144MHz SSB Transceiver

144 MHz transciever

This homemade base station transceiver has given me over twenty years service.
It is based around the G4CLF designed SSB exciter board that uses the Plessey SL series of IF and balanced mixer integrated circuits.
VXO controlled, this single band, single mode rig is still permanently connected to a nine element Tonna. I switch it on when ever I am in the shack, it's just a shame activity is not what it used to be.

I've recently updated this transceiver; now has wide band receive and an SDR output.

The G4CLF board could always cover 1-500Mhz due to the mixer an SBL-1, so I've recently added the PA0KLT synthesizer. It is still only two metre transmit but has wide band receive.
I also had a left over Softrock RX/TX so I've used this to provide an SDR output from the 10.7MHz IF.

20w out
(2010) The rig will now tune from as low as 100kHz to 350MHz.
VXO covered 144.150MHz to 144.500MHz (14.8444 X 9 = 133.6 + 10.7 = 144.3)
